In addition to their bookbuddies project, the grade 5 students have staged several Reader's Theater performances for their classmates. Scripts for these plays were downloaded from Aaron Shepard's Reader's Theater Editions on the WWW. They includes :
- The Hidden One: A Native American Legend . This tale comes from the Mi'kmaq (or Micmac) tribe of Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and Prince Edward Island, Canada. It is based on a folktale (Cinderella tale)
and deals with the theme of self-esteem. The text of the story The Hidden One is also available from the site.
