In Social Studies we had to make a cave that the Cro-Magnons lived in a long time ago. Also in that cave we had to include things like a fire, some tools maybe, sticks and the most important we had to include some paintings on the walls of the caves because the Cro-Magnons were one of the first people to dicover the use of art and so they painted on the walls of their caves. The kind of things they painted are the animals they hunted and they believed that if they painted the animals on their walls that when they hunted the animals they will have good luck and the animals will come to them and it will be easier for them to hunt. So because they believed that they also painted all kinds of animals on the tools they used to hunt animals.

Then we made the fire. We did that by putting the stones we got from outside and sticking them inside our cave and then putting the sticks we got inside them and also sticking them on and some on the stones. After that we took some colored paper and stuck them onto the sticks and stones. The colors we used were red, yellow, black, and a little bit of purple and orange. When the fire was finished we stuck it in the cave and put some ashes around it.

Then we papier-mached the outside of the cave so that it will also have some bumps and then we painted it gray. When it dried up we stuck some branches of leaves on the opening of the cave.

After that we were ready to make the cave paintings. We painted a woolly mammoth and a horse. The woolly mammoth we painted yellow and the horse we painted reddish brown. After that dried up we put some stones and sand inside the cave and then our cave was finished.
