Celtic Way of Life

The Celtic people built no cities, founded no empires and never developed a written language, and as a result The Celts have only left us a few fragmentary traces of their passage through history. Archaelogists have been putting the pieces together of what they have found on the Celts. They know that the Celtic people had a lot of feasts and parties and told a lot of folk tales. They knew that they worked on farms, they went out to harvest crops (depending on the seasons), they burnt iron rings for wheels, the women crushed wheat and turned it into flour. The women also looked after the animals and the pigs, and collected water from the wells on the farm. They didn't have to walk far to find water like some of them have to do now. The men built the houses out of straw and mud and mud bricks. There were nobelmen as well who went to work in the war and fought for the country while the women stayed at home and worked. The children would also sometimes help the mothers on the farm. In most cases the women looked after the farms when the men went out to work.. They sometimes would work all day and sometimes into the night.

Arts and Crafts

The Celts were very interested in arts and crafts. They spent most of their tine working with scraps. But as they went in to the world and found out other different types of materials such as clay and metal. They spent the rest of their time working on different projects and with different materials. They were an original culture!!
