Arnaud's Report:
Design:
Our game was a spinner. It was a square divided into 4 parts. 2 of the parts were orange and the other 2 were blue. In the middle, there was a paper clip that you had to spin.
Mathematical Probability:
The mathematical probability is 50 percent. The reason that the mathematical probability is 50% is because there was a half orange and a half blue.
Experimental probabbility:
The experimental probability woked out better than we thought. The experimental probability worked out to be 1 percent off the mathematical probability. 51% of the children won and 49% of them lost.
Rules:
1. you had to chose which colour you wanted between orange and blue
2. you had to spin the paper clip
3. if the paper clip was on the colour you chose, you win
4. you only get one chance to spin
5. hope that you enjoyed the game and had fun playing it.
The report of today:
There were a lot of children at our table. Masato and me were very busy keeping the score and tell the little kids the rules. What was good is that they were usually in a big group so we explained it to the group. 51% of the people won and 49% of the people lost.
How well it worked:
It worked very well. The experimental probability was 1 percent off the mathematical probabilty. I think that the children had fun playing the game.
How well the group worked together:
Our group worked very well and we were happy to be in the same group. We were both very busy telling the kids the rules and keeping the score
Masato's Report:
Rules:
1. Guess which colour you will get
2. Spin the Spinner
3. If you get the colour you chose, you win.
Materials:
Cardboard, pin and stapler.
The probability of getting a win is 50 percent.
The experimental probability of a win was 136/219 or 62 percent.
The experimental probability of losing was 83/219 or 38 percent.
Our game has two colours: blue and orange. Half is blue and half is orange so the theoretical probability is 50 percent. Three classes got 50 percent wins and loses.
Arnaud and I made the spinner. First we made a design and on Tuesday Arnaud had to make it, but he forgot it, so we made the spinner together. I think we did a good job.
