"Pick a Cat"
by Olga and Niharica

Olga's Report: The Rules: first pick a cat without looking. If the cat is totally black then you win a point.

The materials: we used a cardboard box, scissors, paint - black and white, paint brushes and a black marker.

How to make the game: First take a box and paint it in black. Then you ned to paint the first side as a face of a black cat. Then on the top of the box you need to make quite a big hole then make four different coloured cats. Then to make one hundred cat cards you need to photocopy each of the cats 25 times. If you want to decorate the cat box you can also cut a tail out of the black paper and stick it onto the opposite side of the cat's head. For the eyes you can also make two running eyes so if you turn the box over then the eyes will run from side to side.

What happened at the probability fair: our experimental probability didn't match the mathematical probability because for some of the little kids we had to put the box a bit lower. And so they first looked in the box so they already knew which one they were going to pick. We thought that the experimental probability would be that one quarter of all the kids would win, but there were more people winning than we thought.
