The Day I Was Born project was an internet research activity in which students were given time each week in the computer lab to research events from the day they were born from a specific list of sites. After visiting the sites and collecting all the information, students were asked to produce a writing assignment about events that occurred on their birthday and famous people who shared their birthday. Each week we spent time in class discussing the findings and voting on such topics as our favourite childhood toy and this information was then back to the organisers of the project.
