Historical figures. I also share a birthday with Ralph Boston, born in 1939, who was an Olympic gold medallist in 1960 for long jump. Here are two of many recording artists sharing a birthday with me: Hank Snow (whom I've never heard of) born in 1914 with a hit "I'm Moving On", and Billy Joel who is quite famous born in 1949 is a Grammy award singer singing "Just the way You Are" and "My Life".

EVENTS OCCURRING ON MY BIRTHDAY

Historical Events. There was one huge event on my birthday in 1994. South Africa's newly elected parliament chose Nelson Mandela to be the country's first black president. The reason this is so big is because South Africans are mostly black and all the other presidents were white. Entertainment--MusicTwo music events that happened on my birthday were Bob Marly, a Jamaican singer, died of lung cancer and a brain tumor in 1981 and he was only 36! Frank Sinatra also died on my birthday in 1998.

Entertainment--MoviesI couldn't find the exact week but I found some movies out in the year I was born. Batman which made $150 million; Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade made $115 million; Back to the future ll made $72 million and Honey I Shrunk the Kids made $72 million. The plot to my favorite movie Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, is about a professor who finds hidden treasure for a hobby, in this case a large stone. Other people also go after it but he always gets it first. He has to read old maps too. The setting of the story is in India and Petra, Jordan. The main character is Indiana Jones himself.

NOSTALGIA

In the United States the year I was born the US president was George Bush and the vice president was Dan Forth Quayle. A postage stamp cost 0.25 cents; a house cost $124,348.00; a car cost $8,243.00; a carton of milk cost $2.14; gasoline cost $1.08 and a loaf of bread cost $1.29.

Favorite Toys. When I was a baby I played with the second generation of Sesame Street dolls such as a creature called 'Baby Alice' who kind of looks like a yellow elephant with a bow in her hair. I played with those little blue characters called the 'Smurfs' and a clown doll named 'Gymboree' who had yellow curly hair, overalls and a red nose.
