I have remembered different events in my life.
The earliest event I can remember was in Germany in 1990 and I was only three years old so I can't remember that much. It was the Slam Dunk Tour with Michael Jordan. Michael Jordan didn't really dunk but he judged the competition, he only did one slam dunk at the beginning of the event to entertain the crowd. The best players of Germany, France, Italy and Spain were competing against each other while Michael Jordan judged. I remember meeting Michael Jordan before the event in private while he and my dad got into a helicopter.
The Mc Donald's Championships are also events I can remember. It is an invitational tournament for five international basketball teams and one N BA team to come and play a basketball tournament and takes place every two years.
The first one I went to was in Munich, Germany in 1993. That time the Phoenix Suns came from the NBA. It was a lot of fun and there were different activities to do. The mascots were the best. Every break they would come out with a trampoline and do a lot of different dunks. The Phoenix Suns' mascot, the gorilla slid down with a rope from the very top of the arena. He would also climb around in the stands. Two men would also come out. The one man would have little hoop on his back which he could move up and down. The other man would throw a little basketball in the crowd and you would have to catch it and then throw it to the other man with the basketball hoop. They would also take a huge sling shot and shoot a T-shirt in the crowd.
The second Mc Donald's Championship event was in London, England, in 1995. We were only there for one game which was the final game. There wasn't any entertainment but it was still fun to watch the game. They didn't have any other activities to do. During the game I got a little tired and looked down at my shoe. And right at that moment one of the players slam dunked the ball into the hoop. I was really frustrated when that happened. That time the Houston Rockets came from the N BA. After a month or so, a bomb went off at the train station. I was really shocked after what had happened because we would go on that train every day. Even the hotel we stayed in was damaged and it was only month after we had left that area.
The third Mc Donald's Championships event was in 1997 and took place in Paris, France. We stayed in a hotel close to the Morely Airport. We called for a cab, which was delayed for about half an hour because of all the traffic inside the city of Paris. We then arrived at the arena. the arena's outside walls were covered in grass. We got into the right gate and sat in our seats. I was very excited to see Michael Jordan for the second time. I was also excited to see the Chicago Bulls play. During the breaks the mascots were great. They were as good as the 1993 Mc Donald's Championships. During half-time my dad and I went looking for some food. But everything was sold out. While we were looking I spotted one of my dad's friend. He then offered us some drinks which was very polite of him. My dad started chatting and we missed part of the game1 that's how they always are. Once the game finished we walked around outside looking for a restaurant, but we needed some money so we then looked for the money machine but we did not find it. So we called for a taxi but they wouldn't take us only because we were five people. Then finally a taxi took us and we headed to our hotel. We then ate room service at the hotel.
Another event I can remember was the 50th Anniversary of the Marshall Plan. The people of Rotterdam invited Americans who lived here in Holland to come to Rotterdam to thank America for giving money to rebuild Rotterdam after it had been bombed. It was very exciting to see president Clinton in Rotterdam. It was like a huge party and all the food was for free. There were also a lot of fun things to do. There was a little jumping castle and games as well. Then it was time for preparing to see President Clinton. I got way up front right at the fence. I was so excited to see him. Then finally his car arrived but I still couldn't see him. Then I saw the tent open and out came Bill Clinton, president of the United States of America. I thought he would walk past us and shake our hands. But he only did that at the end. After he said his speech he got down from the stage and then I saw them coming my way to shake people's hands. Then finally he came to me and I shook his hand. It was so special to me that I will never forget it.
I hope you've liked what I wrote about the events in my life and I wonder if you have been to them as well
