Houses in Different Climates

Hot and Dry Climates

If you are building a house for a hot and dry place, then you should paint the house in very pale color because dark colors absorb more heat. The windows in the house should be small so that there is enough light but not too much heat coming in and enough space to let in a breeze. You need to have an awning to create shade. A flat roof helps to cool the house. You need insulation in the house to keep the air temperature cool.

Cold and Wet Climates

If you want to build a house for a cold and snowy climate, your house should be able to keep the residents warm. There should be big windows to let in enough light on cold and gloomy days. You must also have a very high stovepipe chimney so that it will not be covered in snow.

Make sure that your house has no cracks or holes that would let in drafts. A slanted roof will help the snow slide off Heavy insulation will retain the warm air You would also want to have many of the windows facing towards the sun so that you would get a lot ofl ight and warmth in the house.

Hot and Cold Climates

If you are building a house for a place where it is cold in the winter and hot in the summer then you should have medium-sized windows to let enough light in but not make it too hot in the summer and not too cold in the winter . There should also be no holes or cracks in the house. There must also be a small slanted roof and good insulation. You might consider using wood or bricks to build the house.
