Why There are Green Trees in the World
    Which Change Color Every Season

    by Niel B, Shivanthi S,
Nina R and Suck Min H

Once upon a time a god lived in the sky, but he was bored because he always saw the same things every day. Black flowers, black trees and black dogs. So he decided to change all the colours of everything. HE HATED BLACK!

So one day he went down to the world with green paints.Nobody was there, only a dog. So he painted the dog. He painted everything. It looked very beautiful.

He went up to the sky, but when winter came the paint melted.

So trees are green, and change every season.

Why Whales Don't Live in Rivers

    by Suck Min H.

Once upon a time whales lived in rivers, and the whales were king of the fishes.

But one whale was very bad, stupid and the strongest in the river. One day the whale ate a lot of fishes. So everybody was angry. But nobody wanted to fight with a whale. So they said to whale "Don't kill fishes". But the whale said "Shut up. If you say one more thing then I will eat you." So the fishes ran away from the whale's house. And they thought "We must go to our god".

So some of them went to their god on the mountain. The mountain was very high. At last they climbed up.

They said "God can you help us? A whale is eating us."

"O.K. I will help you, " replied the God.

And God expelled the whale to the sea and made him very weak. Every fish was happy.

So that is why the whale is living in the sea !!!!!

    The Three Wolves

    by Niel B.

Once upon a time there were three bad little wolves, and these wolves were very sad because their parents had just divorced ... not only were they sad, but also hungry, because their parents had been so mad at each other that they had gone to stay with their own relatives and they had forgotten the children at home. The oldest brother knew that if he and his brothers were to survive they would have to find food for themselves. And since the wolves were wolves, they could hardly survive on anything but meat, so the brothers concluded they would have to hunt for their food.

There truly was an abundance of meat in the forest, but all that meat was squirrel meat and the squirrels were very quick and nimble, so the wolves sighed to themselves as they realised they would have to find a way to hunt the squirrels. A nut fell out of one of the forest trees and hit the youngest brother on the head. Then the oldest brother sprang up with a spark and announced "Brothers, I have an idea!" and whispered his plan into each brother's ear so as not to arouse the squirrels. The wolves then started making a foolproof trap that had very little chance of failure.

They built together a pole with a very small house on top of it. The house was full of candied chestnuts and caramelised acorns, and it was just the right size for a squirrel. The wolves each found themselves a place to hide and wait for their inevitable first victim. That victim turned out to be a small, very young squirrel boy. Oblivious to any possible danger, the bold young squirrel entered a realm of true squirrel happiness. His happiness was short lived however, when something knocked at the entrance to the squirrel's home. He carefully peered out the small entrance and saw the eldest wolf watching expectantly. The squirrel went back to eating his nuts.

"Why aren't you scared of me?" said the wolf.

"Because everybody knows ONE wolf is not dangerous!" replied the squirrel calmly.

"Would two wolves frighten you?" asked the wolf.

"I don't know, you'll have to let me see! Bring a friend." said the squirrel.

The eldest wolf called to the second oldest brother "Come here!" and so he did. The squirrel saw the other wolf and again started nibbling at the nuts.

"Why aren't you scared of us?" shouted the anxious wolf.

"Everybody knows TWO wolves aren't dangerous!" replied the squirrel.

"Would three wolves scare you?" the wolf inquired.

"I don't know, you'll have to let me see! Go get a friend."

The eldest wolf called to the youngest wolf "Come here!" so he did. The squirrel saw the other wolf and lay down on top of a heap of leaves the wolves had thoughtfully placed in their house earlier.

"Why aren't you scared of us?" cried the wolf in despair, and the squirrel answered "Because everybody knows THREE wolves aren't dangerous" Then the squirrel said "I'm pretty sure four wolves would scare the heck out of me if you could let me see. There is a wolf on the other side of the forest that would gladly help you!" The wolves decided that they could scare the squirrel if they could just go fetch the wolf on the other side of the forest. So they ran off, leaving the little squirrel enough time to finish his nuts, and go back home.

    The Girl From The Moon

    by Shivanthi S.

Once there was a poor potter and his wife. They lived in a small village near a big forest. They were both very old and unhappy. They longed to have a child to bring some light to their miserable lives. When the potter was at work his wife would stay at home and clean their little hut.

One day when the potter was coming home from work through the forest he heard a sound of a baby crying. He followed the sound and found a beautiful baby girl. "Who could leave such a beautiful little baby alone in the dark", the potter said to himself. He took the baby home. His wife was so delighted that she cried with joy. Together they named this beautiful child Maria.

As little Maria grew up she became very beautiful. All the women in the village admired her beauty. Though Maria grew up to be beautiful, she also grew up to love her parents very much. Every day Maria would play with all the children in the neighourhood. On full moon nights Maria would do nothing but sit on the grass and stare at the moon.

One night the potter and his wife and Maria heard a deep voice saying "Maria, it is time for you to come back."

Maria looked at her parents and said "You have cared for me as your own child and I will never be able to repay you for what you have done, but now I have to go back to my real home."

"But this is your real home," said her mother in tears.

"No, mother, my real home is the moon," replied Maria. With that she jumped up and vanished into thin air.

Why There are Stars in the Sky

    by Nina R.

Once upon a time, there lived a girl who was very poor. Her parents didn't make a lot of money. Every day the girl looked up into the sky and one day she said that she was going to make her family rich and that she was going to make the sky have stars, because the sky looked so dull. The sky was very happy that one little girl was going to make the sky have stars in it. Also where this girl lived on a farm, the land was very dry and it needed water very badly.

It was her birthday the following week and she wanted to have some very nice things. Her parents gave her a golden ball - they had saved all their money for the little girl because they loved her very much. When the day was over she took her golden ball and threw it up into the sky, again and again. This time she threw it very high and it didn't come down and she was very sad. Suddenly it started to rain, and thunder started. It rained for two days. The girl was still unhappy and she wanted her ball back. The only thing that could make her happy was when she saw the golden ball in the sky.

One night she looked up in to the sky and saw millions of stars. She was very happy. She was dancing and dancing because she made the sky look nice with wonderful stars, and she made her parents rich because she made the stars. Now you know why there are stars in the sky. Also you now know that those things really up there are golden balls. You can thank the little girl for making the sky look so beautiful.
