Population, Cities and Farms in Newcastle

Population

The overall population of the country is 1.5 million people.

The population of workers are beginning to decrease. The birth rate is beginning to decline and a large number of old people are starting to retire. Some of the country's major industries are being forced to close down. The industries have turned to the government for help. The government has advised the industries to raise pay and increase hours for the workers.

Farms

There are two farms in Newcastle. They are owned by Farmer Jamerson and Farmer Henderson. Farmer Jamerson grows sugar cane, oranges, potatoes and cocoa. Whilst Farmer Henderson mainly harvests coffee, tomatoes, wheat and pigs.

Cities

Newcastle has three main cities, Manchester, Oxford and Bournemouth. Manchester has 250,000 residents. Oxford has 200,000 residents. Bournemouth has 100,000 residents. The capital of Newcastle is London and it has 300,000. The good areas for farming on Newcastle are the areas around Stock bay. The main things it is likely the farms will grow is sugarcane, oranges,, coffee, soybean and dry Beans.

Refugees

Refugees have started to flee from Africa because of the recent conflict between Africa and Egypt. The Refugees are begging to be able to live in Newcastle. It was up to the government to decide.

The government had to have a vote. Everyone wrote down their vote and put it in the box that was being passed around. When everyone's vote was in the box the box was taken to the counting room. Everyone was waiting in the Meeting Hall. The counters came out. 50% or the parliament said No we don't want them. Send them away. And 50% of the parliament said Yes let them stay. It was a tie. The parliament then went off to the Main Hall to discuss what was to be done next.

They came out after 15 minutes and asked me if I wound like to make the deciding vote. I accepted. I decided to vote Yes let them stay. It will be good for our country. When the refugees grow up they will get jobs. So that means that they will be adding to society. We will have to let them be free. They shouldn't have to pay Taxes until they get jobs. There are some problems though. They aren't used to our diseases, and we aren't used to their's. So if we get their diseases or they get ours then it could prove fatal. The way we can prevent this is by giving them shots before they come in to Newcastle. We should be able to let around 20,000 new people into Newcastle.

A Very Brief History of Newcastle

The first people that came and settled down were on a cruise ship called the Queen Mary on an around the world cruse back in 1776. The cruise ship went aground off the Brazil Basin and the current swept the surviving passengers towards Newcastle. The lucky survivors managed to get in a life boat but the other people just took hold of pieces of wood and just hung on. The current kept on sweeping them towards Newcastle.

Two days after the disaster the people got swept up on Newcastle. Out of the 978 people that went on the cruise only 200 made it to the island. Some tried to float to Africa or Argentina but they just got eaten alive by hungry animals or died of exposure.

The people settled down on the island and started to like it. They built houses and gardens and all kinds of other things. The people on the island then had children, their children had children etc.

Out of all the people on the island most of the people came from England. But one or two came from France and Sweden.

Transporation, Communication and Media

Transportation

The main means of transport on Newcastle are ships and cars. People use ships to get to Ever Green Nature Reserve and maybe companies will use the ships to transport their goods from mainland to Pearl Harbor. Although they could just drive over the Golden Gateway Bridge in a lorry but that would take longer than a boat because they would have to make a few trips and on the boat they would just make one trip.

Cars will be used to get around to jobs etc. but the car must use unleaded petrol so that it won't damage the environment as much as diesel.

The reasons there aren't any trains is because they would create sound pollution for the residents of Newcastle.

Communication

Most Residents will have phones in there houses. Those who don't have any phones will be given one by the government. The reason for this is because if there is a fire then the people who don't have a phone wont be able to contact the emergency services. The emergency services number is 0007.
