My grandfather was a geophysicist. He looked for oil and gas in our republic Bashkiria. Then he made a big map of the places where he had been. Usually,it was wild places with a lot of dangerous,even wild animals.

During the Second World War my mother was a little girl aged 7 and she lived with her grandparents. She told me that they had only 1 piece of bread (250 grams) for the whole family. Her family consisted of her brother, grandmother Malica, mother Anna, father Usman. She would look for a wild sorrel in the forest when her parents worked during the war. Then they would cook a soup with the sorrel.

Once grandmother Anna lost cards for getting food (bread and goats) for all family,and they became swollen because of the hunger (1943, S.War),but people helped them to survive.
