The Play

Music for the play. We composed the music for the performance. First we read the play and identified the places where music was required. We discussed which instruments would be suitable - listening to music from the country where the tale originated. With partners we brainstormed musical ideas for parts of the play, then presented our ideas to the class for feedback and decided on the best ideas. Then we put them all in place and rehearsed them many times - the timing with the text was the most difficult part to work out and we couldn't do that precisely until we had seen the play.
