In Northern China near Mongolia, the climate is very dry. In the summer it is hot during the day and cold at night. Even in July the temperature at night drops to 10 degrees Celsius and hardly any rain. In the South near Thailand the summer is humid. In September when we're visiting we'll take some warm clothes.
The major cities on longitude 100 are Xiining, Caka and Zhangye.
In the North the land is desert. But most of the area on the longitude is plateau grassland and only in the very south will we find some forests.
We will have to be very careful in China while drinking the water because it can be quite dirty and cause several diseases.
The languages are Standard Chinese, Mandarin, Yue, Wu, Minbei, innan, Kiang, Gan and Hakka dialects.
The national food is rice, fish and tea. We will need "yuan renminbi" in order to buy food and clothes.
The People's Republic of China is ruled by the Communist Party, whose senior members also hold the highest offices of state. National policy is determined by a twenty-member politburo and even more important, a standing committee.
