The Falkland
Islands

The official language of the country is English. The money used is called Falkland Pound (like the British Pound). The Falkland Islands are Dependent Territory of the United Kingdom, and the captial city is Stanley. Queen Elizabeth II is their chief of state as well. They are located about 300 miles from the coast of South America.

The vegetation in The Falklands is low shrubs, coarse grasses and ferns. There are many sheep grazing on the hills. We will be passing through the cities of Hill Cove, Chartres, and Fox Bay on the West Falkland Island at the end of our trip.

During September for out trip the lowest temperature is -8 degrees Celsius and the high is around 2 degrees. We are wearing woolen clothes.

No vaccinations are required to enter this country.
