Greenland

The languages that they speak in the country are Danish and Greenlandic dialects. The local currency is the Danish Krone. The Queen of Denmark is also the Queen of Greenland, Margrethe II.

The natural vegetation is buried under ice and snow--so there is mostly brush lands and birch trees. We are not visiting any major towns. The food here is fish and shrimps. In September when we are travelling the lowest temperature is -5 degrees Celsius and the highest is 1 degree. We must wear winter clothes: long-sleeved t-shirts, sweatshirts, a coat and proper shoes.

Because the country we are visiting is near a tectonic plate separation we are keeping an eye out to make sure no earthquakes occur or no volcanoes erupt during the time we are visiting the country.

We did not need any vaccinations before coming to Greenland.
