Algeria

When we went to Algeria there were lots of poorer people. Many people speak Arabic but there are other languages also. The food was very different. We stayed for a week.

Our Guidebook: I you travel to Algeria you must have a visa to enter the country. To visit any country in Africa you must have a number of vaccinations including the yellow fever vaccination. It is also advised to take malaria pills before and during your trip to Africa.

If you go to Algeria this month, September, you will need to take summer clothes because the temperature is very hot during the day--as high as 35 degrees celsius. However, it can get very cold at night.(Here is the current weather report from Algiers.) Much of Algeria is made up of desert and high mountains. It is possible to go into the desert and mountains, but you will need to be well prepared with clothing and supplies.
