Puppet of Heros and Heroines
by Niharica and Olga

Panna Dhai My Father

Panna Dhai was a maid of a palace owned by a king in Rajistan, a state in India. Panna Dhai took care of the King's son.

The King had a brother who wanted to get rid of him and his son, so he himself would then become king. One day he came and killed the King and Queen. Just before the Queen passed out, she told Panna Dhai to save her son at all costs.

Panna Dhai looked after the little boy until one day the King's brother came to kill him. Panna Dhai had a son who was the same age as the King's son. So when the King's brother came to kill the little boy Panna Dhai put her own son on the King's bed and told the brother that the King's son was in bed. When the King's brother killed the little boy he thought that he had killed the King's son, but he actually killed Panna Dhai's own son.

That night Panna Dhai took the boy and escaped to another country where she brought up the boy. When he grew up he was able to regain his throne and become king.

Panna Dhai made a very painful sacrifice. That's why she's my heroine.

My hero is my dad. He is my hero because he is a nice person. He is always doing things for me and being many things, but sometimes he is cross. He likes to help me and he likes to help other people. That's why I chose him.
